Job Vacancy - Assistant Compliance Inspector
The Council of Property Search Organisations (CoPSO), a major trade association for the property search industry, is looking for two Assistant Compliance Inspectors to work within the Property Codes Compliance Board (PCCB) Inspection Team, working eight days per calendar month.
The PCCB is an independent compliance body. Our primary role is to maintain the register of firms that subscribe to the Search Code of Practice and independently monitor their compliance with the Code. The PCCB inspectors report into a Compliance Committee, which is formed of three consumer representatives.
This employed position will be based from home, however the role holder may be required to travel within England, Wales and Scotland as agreed with the Chief Compliance Inspector to conduct Search Code Inspections.
The daily rate of pay is £220.00 plus all reasonable travel expenses. You will also receive holiday pay and have the option to be enrolled into a workplace pension scheme.
As a PCCB Assistant Compliance Inspector, reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, your regular duties will include:
- Processing new applications from potential subscribers to the Search Code
- Researching and responding to subscriber member queries efficiently and promptly by telephone and/or email
- Producing timely reports to members following inspections and ensure their actions are completed
- Carrying out annual renewal checks and undertaking physical compliance inspections at the code subscribers’ place of work or on a video call
- Reviewing/writing Search Code guidance notes and drafting communications to members
- Taking part in PCCB online training forums
- Carrying out research and other tasks as directed by the Chief Compliance Inspector.
You must have:
- An excellent understanding of how property searches work. Knowledge of the CoPSO Search Code Rules and Regulations would be desirable.
- Excellent inter-personal communication skills
- Ability to always display a professional manner
- Good report writing skills, showing attention to details
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team
Due to the sensitive information that subscribers may share as part of the job; a Confidentiality Clause will be included in the contract.
The successful candidate must not be actively involved with any other Property Search firm.
